Wajo (Dance) by Aguike, alias allah bama- music Review
This is how to take a great song and reinvent it on a whole new creative level. Aguike is relentless and ruthless in his pursuit of a great song. He has repeatedly demonstrated a knack for expressing a song in limitless ways.
Wajo is a fast-paced dance, pop, house beat, with eclectic traces of Afrobeats and influences from Spanish or Latin guitar.
The dance-tailored choruses are on point and well-executed. Their soulful melody is haunting. The fun and soulful choruses keep the track running with an intense dance floor feel and groove.
The voices chorus: “My baby na firecracker” Wajo Similaya… Don’t worry Be happy” It’s all beautifully sewn together.
This is an intense, pulsating, international party beat with no dull moment. From smooth adlibs to nimble arrangements and fun-styled lead vocals, AllaBama plunges you into this fast-paced, energetic, soulful celebration.
Aguike’s ability to creatively express one song in diverse ways or versions is mind-blowing. For me, this is a huge creative leap and a very contemporary interpretation of this timeless classic. This superbly executed installment of the song speaks to the evolutionary maturity Aguike has undergone as a songwriter.
True to the title, “Wajo,” which means dance and don’t worry, this big beat seizes you and puts you in a dance frame of mind. It simply makes you want to hit the dance floor straight away if dance is your thing.
The beautiful mix, ear-friendly mastering, thumping bassline, and elusive Spanish guitars all complete the elements of this massive dance masterpiece.
This is another seminal ode to Aguike’s songcrafting skills.
